My 2022 Highlights!

As the year draws to a close, I thought I would share with you my 2022 highlights! This year has been filled with so many incredible opportunities that have been life-changing in my career as a Surrey Wedding Photographer.

I have had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful couples and fellow wedding photographers, and I am so grateful for the network of people around me. This job makes my soul so happy and I can’t imagine my life without it now.

It has been difficult to decide on my 2022 highlights as there have been so many amazing moments but here are my top five!

Surrey Wedding Photographer Tatler Magazine Feature

In the summer I was approached by Tatler to be featured in their magazine! I still have to pinch myself over this moment as it was such a dream come true! They found me on Instagram and were so impressed with my profile that they reached out to me via email.

My work was published in their September, October and November 2022 issues. This was such a huge moment in my career and it was an honour to be featured in such a well-established and iconic publication.

 

Wedding Planning!

Being a Surrey Wedding Photographer I have the opportunity to witness so many of your beautiful love stories. I love, LOVE, so the fact that my job is based around this is truly an honour, and something I will cherish forever. 

I am so excited that in July 2023 I will be celebrating my own love story as I marry my wonderful fiancé! We got engaged in August 2021 and have been planning this day for the past two years. Luckily for me, I have never-ending inspiration from all of the weddings I get to shoot! 

My fiancé and I have opted for a small intimate wedding at Gorse Hill in Woking, Surrey with our closest friends and family. Of course, one of my favourite parts of the whole process has been shopping for my wedding dress. I had the best experience of wedding dress shopping thanks to the wonderful staff at Anna Bridal in Ringwood where I purchased my dream dress. 

There have been some struggles along the way such as finding bridesmaid dresses that all of my girls love. It will be different for me to be on the other side of the camera for the day this summer, but I have so much faith in my chosen wedding photographer and know they will bring my vision to life.

Second Shooting as a Surrey Wedding Photographer

Being asked to second-shoot weddings alongside so many phenomenal wedding photographers is one of the best parts of my job. I am so lucky that I have been given many opportunities to second-shoot weddings throughout 2022. 

This is incredibly important to me as it allows me to continue learning, growing, and building connections with other wedding photographers. Although I have my own business as a Surrey Wedding Photographer, I am always looking for new ways to challenge myself and build upon my skills, so shooting alongside people that inspire and motivate me is the best feeling! 

My second shooting opportunities tend to come from referrals from other photographers I have worked alongside; this is something I love the most about our community. I am a believer in community over competition so being given these opportunities thanks to other wedding photographers, is so special to me.  

Second shooting has allowed me to visit some of the most gorgeous venues, meet so many wonderful people, and work alongside the most talented photographers. 

The Wedding of Dreams

I thought I would share with you one of my favourite weddings of 2022! This was a tricky one as I enjoy all of the weddings I am asked to shoot and I never take that for granted. 

Maj and Dotun’s wedding was truly spectacular. I had never shot at St Audries Park before so visiting a venue for the first time is always exciting – but nothing prepared me for how breathtaking this venue is. 

The incredible venue, coupled with Maj and Dotun, whose obvious love and adoration for one another, were what made this day stand out for me. It was a pleasure capturing their love for one another and a wedding I will remember for years to come!

Couple Highlight

I met George and Kirsty earlier this year for an engagement session and it was one of my favourite shoots ever! They decided on a sunrise shoot in Littlehampton – the morning was filled with so much laughter, and I left feeling beyond excited to see this lovely couple again for their wedding next year. 

I have shot three of George and Kirsty’s friends’ weddings, and when they got engaged, they booked me straight away! I feel like that in itself is the biggest honour, and I can’t wait to make all of their dreams come true.
