A Surprise Engagement at Cliveden House!

As a wedding photographer, I am constantly humbled and honoured by the trust that my clients put in me to capture their most precious moments. Recently, I had the pleasure of helping Gavin to organise a surprise engagement at Cliveden House – one of the most beautiful venues in Berkshire!

I was beyond excited when Gavin asked me to capture this special moment. As a romantic at heart, surprise proposals always bring me so much joy, and I was over the moon to play a role in this significant event in both of their lives! 

Gavin wanted me to capture the proposal itself, followed by some couple photos to celebrate their engagement. They also wanted to include their 11-month-old child in some family photos.

To ensure that Lucy was completely surprised, Gavin and I came up with a plan together… 

When they arrived at Cliveden House, I approached them and told them I was shooting social media content for the venue and asked if they would like a photo taken. Gavin encouraged Lucy to agree, and our plan worked perfectly!

As I positioned them for the photo, I asked Lucy to face me and Gavin to stand behind her with his arms around her. It was then that Gavin got down on one knee, and Lucy turned to see him holding out the ring. After she said yes, we did a beautiful photoshoot on the grounds of Cliveden House.

The entire morning was truly magical, and I am grateful to have been able to capture this special moment for them! Cliveden House was the perfect backdrop for the occasion. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the staff were so friendly and approachable.

After our photoshoot, Gavin and Lucy enjoyed a romantic lunch in the restaurant of the house to celebrate their engagement. 

It was a perfect ending to a perfect day!

Being part of moments like these is what makes my job as a wedding photographer so special. Capturing the love, joy, and emotion of my clients is truly an honour, and I feel blessed to be able to do what I love every day.
